Job Description
What you’ll do
You will assist the Reconciliations Coordinator in providing an effective, accurate and compliant intercompany and payroll reconciliations for Anglo American BU’s (Kumba, Coal, Platinum, AOL, Singapore)
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
You will be required to complete the following activities in accordance with agreed service levels:
The incumbent must ensure that the integrity of the general ledger is maintained through the completion of all reconciliations with special note on overdue item on a monthly basis.
Take full responsibility for authorising all journal entries from the reconciliation’s accountant.
Ensure all intercompany transactions are duly entered into the appropriate ledgers in a timely manner, maintenance entries are undertaken as required and monthly intercompany balances are agreed.
Ensure all payroll transactions are duly entered into the appropriate ledgers in a timely manner, maintenance entries are undertaken as required and monthly payroll balances are agreed to source by way of 3rd party statement and payroll output reports.
Review the reconciliation of the income statement employee expenses to the payroll output reports with special attention to reconciling items.
Review all relevant statutory and regulatory returns done by payroll execution.
Look for opportunities to automate tasks using robotic process automation and give guidance on automation opportunities to team as well as standardisation and work across Global Shared Services.
Review of non-routine transactions.
Review KPI reports per the Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Risk Management by ensuring critical controls are in place and monthly sign off of control environment.
Review deviations from KPIs and advise the Reconciliations coordinator.
Follow up and ensure that audit findings are resolved.
Review statutory notes and schedules for input to upstream reporting and financial statements. (HFM)
Review of basic web forms from the Reconciliations accountant
Completion of complex web forms in HFM.
Review of service level agreements and propose changes when relevant.
Collaboration with the RPA Process Controller in management of the RPA

Bcompt Degree
An Honors degree will be preferable
Must have 5 years in a Corporate finance position
Must have managed people for at least 3 years
Be able to manage difficult people
Solid Accounting background
