About the Position
Only South African citizens / residents with valid SA ID number need apply.
Position responsible to manage accounting department comprising of 3 to 4 members.
Verifying the accuracy of transactions entered in Evolution for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory, BOM, Job Costing, Point of Sale, WHT and VAT;
Ensure accurate / timely closure of monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual accounts;
In depth understanding of month end reconciliations – Should be able to reconcile medium/large bank accounts (high volume) and Cashbooks and perform set month end close procedures
Monthly Reconciliation of VAT Control account and submitting VAT returns
Performing Analysis and verification on monthly salary and wages accounts and submitting PAYE returns.
Initiate monthly stock takes and performing in depth analysis into variations, reporting to Directors on inventory variations.
Design and implement checks and controls in all financial transactions relating to AP, AR and inventory;
Handling income tax return and assessment;
Review Monthly Nominal Accounts for allocations and passing journals if necessary
Timely deposit of tax & returns within statutory timeline;
Reconcile and review monthly balance sheet accounts in order to produce accurate Management Statements monthly to Directors, report on variation from budgeted amounts verses actuals identifying root of cause.
Preparing Financial Statements for Various Companies in Group
Preparing Budgets, Cash flows and forecasts
Attention to detail and accuracy in detail is critically important, must be able to quickly identifying mistakes and put corrective measures for the mistakes no to re-occur.
Extremely Detail Oriented – Should deliver 100 % accurate figures without the having to be double verified by a second person
Act as an auditor ie. Be the first point check for all data being given by the plant
Ensure internal audits are conducted smoothly
Ensure ad-hoc audits from SANAS/ and Government agencies are conducted smoothly.
Giving Financial Advice and Tax Advise to Directors on Tax Laws, and Keep abreast with the latest changes in the law and accordingly suggest changes in day to day working.
Levelheaded and quick thinker – Should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet hard deadlines
Should be able to consistently monitor progress of rest of accounting department to make sure that they do not fall behind, and willing to assist and implement systems for team members not to fall behind in future

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
CA(SA) – Bcom Hons accounting + completed articles + board exams
5-10 years post qualification experience
Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a manufacturing accountant
Advanced Computer Literacy & MS Excel knowledge including pivot tables and writing basic macro’s
Fully acquainted with IFRIS standards and IFRIS for SME
Advanced TAX experience
Experience in all tax submissions to SARS
Fully compliant as a tax practitioner.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED
Must be well organized.

Must have great work ethic
