m is looking for a seasoned
professional with an indepth knowledge of pricing to lead the team. In this role you will be required to enhance the profitability of the business unit through the optimisation of credit risk management practices, in line with the business unit’s risk appetite and Nedbank business strategy. Optimise credit loss performance of the business unit and maximise risk adjusted returns throughout the product life cycle from acquisition, pricing, account management, collections and recoveries through the development and application of decision models and other strategic quantitative tools.
Ensure competitiveness of products in the market and ensuring equitable market share by implementing, measuring and optimising business strategy.
Drive business profitability by managing pricing, impairments and capital.
Shared executive accountability in delivering business strategy and making business decisions within the Business Unit across Functional Areas including sales, collections operations and supporting areas.
Ownership and delivery of robust strategies to manage credit policy, pricing, product parameters such as client offer through problem identification, analytics, proposal development, implementation and post-change monitoring.
Ensure regulatory and internal compliance across the credit life cycle to avoid undue reputational risk and losses to Nedbank.
Ensure credit risk capital adequacy through the development and application of appropriate models and necessary external compliance (SARB).
Ensure business is adequately provided against credit losses in line with international accounting standards.
Inform client value proposition in the business and across the Retail and Business Banking Cluster through client insights, market analysis, competitor dynamics and test-and-learn strategies.
Represent business unit in credit risk governance structures across Retail and Business Banking as well Group Risk functions.
Represent business units in industry discussions/interactions and liaising with key industry stakeholders including the National Credit Regulator (NCR), SA Reserve Bank (SARB) and Credit Bureaus.
Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
BCom, BSc with specialisation in mathematics, statistics or econometrics
Honours of equivalent qualification such as CFA, FRM would be preferred
Minimum Experience Level
8 – 10 years of relevant analytical and credit risk experience
Must have management experience
Pricing experience in assets, liabilities and/or transactional banking products or pricing experience in relatable industry, BASEL knowledge in so far as it applies to risk based pricing on assets, managing of pricing mandates, financial modelling, build and roll out of web based tools to enable front line price management.
Excel advanced, VBA. SQL, Python and R would be advantageous but not essential.
