To ensure the development of plans are as flexible as possible to allow a prompt response to changing demands.
To ensure the plans are readily available to all stakeholders and in a suitable format for viewing in the Ops Centre.
Develop a port daily , weekly , monthly and quartley port plan.
To produce the best plan for the traffic demand that is placed on its objective.
Publish Port Plan.
Collation of Port operations planning.
The Production of a deviation plan for planned and unplanned deviations(Deviations Management)
To ensure all daily weekly, quarterly and monthly, plans are collated, validated integrated and published to the port users.
To ensure the plan is published at the port for implementation and monitoring.
To ensure the Ops centre production plan in terms of TNPA requirements are up-to-date and relevant.
Re-planning to ensure optimum use of Port capacity.
Recovery plans to planned and unplanned deviations in terms of TNPA requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
Port operations knowledge and experience
3 years experience within the Port environment

Ability to read and interpret the port operations plans
Understanding of operating systems and procedures.
Understanding of emergency management procedures.
Ability to work with diverse communities within the organization.
Computer reports, basic knowledge
of personal safety measures.Knowledge required:
Knowledge of the South African port system.
Knowledge of key commodities and their relative export/import ports.
Know the terminal operating performance standards (TOPS).
Know the marine services operating standards.
Understand the operating systems of port operations.
Know ops centre processes .
Know the regulatory environment of the port.
Understand the Ports Act.
Know safety and security regulations.
Analytical – Be able to take part in the problems / situation and draw
the correct conclusion while considering different points of view.
Communication – Skilled at making effective verbal and written
presentations, imparting information to others clearly.
Computer – The ability to apply knowledge and to use computers to capture, store, obtain and analyse information.
